To B or not to B?

As much as I have adored Bachchan’s performances on the screen, I have been severely disappointed with his actions (or the lack of them) off it. Despite all the hero worship for Sachin, SRK and probably Aamir, I am convinced Big B is our greatest living role model, with the largest base of fan following and hero worship.
But then why has he always been a selfish man, why is he busy only fattening his own bank balance, why does he never even attempt to convert his awesome brand value for the betterment of his nation? Why is he hanging out with a fixer like Amar Singh? How on earth can he be a part of a campaign that is aimed at usurping farmland?
I have always found it depressing that people like Bachchan just don’t care for us, that has made me even more cynical about this country. And when I went to meet him for the Mirror interview last Friday at his swanky ABCL office in Juhu, I pretty much told him so. And all I got was the famous cold stare. Here’s a link to the interview (click here), perhaps you will find some answers therein.
My own take: Big B has become as cynical and negative about this nation as the rest of us. Damn!

Congratulations on taking on the 'major icon' (what a scoop!)and asking the hard questions that have been troubling his fans of late. I am not much of an Indian movie watcher and even less a fan of the man so my recent decision to boycott his films did little to hurt him I'm sure - yet your comprehensive coverage and his answers did put him in a better light in my eyes and so off I go to 'Cheeni Kum'(mostly to see Tabu!).

Been a while since I read an interview that was as forthright. As usual, pleasure reading your work. And yes, although I'm sure you didn't get the responses you were, or rather all of us were looking for, I admire the brass nerve you had asking him those questions :)

Wish you all the best (will be your biggest supporter, in any which wy i can)when you go all out to catch the BIG Fish. The ones who have messed up this lovely City. Looks like there is no one to bell the CAT.
Amitab like most good Fathers, is trying to protect his Family, and what is wrong with this? Believe me I am not his FAN, but I admire him for bringing up his children, the way they are, and not like most of the Noveou rich, who have let their kids do what they want, and protect (shield)them with their money and clout.

I'm not at all worried about Big B or Big F , what really disturbs me is the way Ash who has achieved so much on her own ... calling her manglik all the time , i feel she is not manglik but terrifik , in fact she has been extremely lucky to the nation atleast if not for the bachchans , UP has got rid of mulayam dosha atleast for next 5 years and this farmer forgery came out in the open and Amar bhaiyya has kept a low profile without irritating with his presence at all the time at the functions , so we must actually thank Ash who has been lucky for our nation. In life(no matter who you are) , there are certainly going to be some good and some not so good days , 1000 people have 1000 opinions on Ash and the e-media should stop covering this stupid issues and stop discussing Ash 's personal and professional life.I hope Ash won't be made a scape goat if Abhishek
's bad movies bomb at the box office since film is a team work and it is either the 'dosha' of all or none for the failure of a particular film(entire film unit).

ASH , plz plz never ever quit films , continue acting , nothing should stop u from pursuing acting , no matter what do select films but good truly different and worthy and i'm looking forward to sarkar2 and i'm sure , you are going to be the surprise element of the film , explore all the possible genres and even languages but definitely not bhojpuri , u have one life to live as ASH make the best use of it.All the best and i request Anil thakraney to interview Aishwarya and ask her all the possible questions

ASH would have never married a tree , it is the media created and endorsed story .Since Aishwarya is super secretive and never complains or explains anything to the media and that makes her fascinating the media starts speculating ..., there are so many stars and superstars but till now i haven't seen any star who has generated so much print space and electronic space as Ash had anything and everything about her is a news item , way to go Ash , the media is simply bowled over by her .When we hear even Abhishek is also manglik then why the media is always after her , it is high time media becomes responsible , the fault is entirely with the media , if one astrologer to get some mileage and publicity does some loose talk , whats the need of media to give it so much importance and relay halh an hour specials dedicated to her life , it is like insulting her all the time.Specially hindi news channels .. what kind of news are they showing bhoot , prath, shani , kal kapal maha kaal ,cigar smoking bhoot all ghost stories and i believe it is the media personnel who are extremely superstitious and they are also encouraging all these practices and also feel the media should start news channels like aishwaryatak only dedicated to the life and times of Ash ,instead of wasting time in showing stupid and rubbish news and Ash can even sue these channels but she will rather ignore them instead of wasting time in court and media are human first , i'm surprised how can they be so insensitive , just for a second imagine what might be going on Ash , hearing or reading these ridiculous stories and she is human and this can upset her mentally.Leave Ash or get it straight from her instead of speculating or creating stories .

Dear Anil,
I too adore Amitabh Bachchan and his acting abilities.I share your sentiments when you say that you were disappointed with his actions (or the lack of them).
I guess its true when they say that,"you should never meet your heroes".

Dear Anil,

It was very candid interview.Good job!I don't have problem with their guest list though ,i mean , when Hrithik got married he didn't invite Ash or the Bachchans for the wedding , so no one should have a problem with that .But i thought you forgot to ask some important questions like was he the real reason behind chopping the Ash-Hrithik scence in D2? if its true ,how could he be so unprofessional , he can act in films like nishabd and cheenikum and do they want their Dinlaw restrict to a particular image or they let her work freely?why should they have a problem with Ash-Hrithik chemistry ?its was fantastic two amazingly looking into each others eyes be it the basketball scene or the bungee jump i thoroughly enjoyed ,infact rest of the cast went unnoticed. does he have a real problem with hrithik or its a publicity stunt to make the movie a hit?does he mind if jaya plays a film like nishabd etc etc... these questions should have been asked , i hope atleast when you interview Ash or someone else from the family you would definitely ask these questions.

ASH , definitely deserved a good looking man like Arjun Rampal or greek god like Hrithik , she had to marry dumb looking lambo Abhishake (no offence intended) heart of gold is a big farce , any way its a personal choice though Ash deserved a equally good looking man like her .may in the next janam atleast.

pretty predictable answers and why should he wish to answer very personal questions be it on Ash, or Rekha, the oly arena that journalist have the rigth to ask him questions is his relationship with Amar Singh, simply because the later is a public figure representing a political party

Ash has been lucky to Big B , he is getting interesting international offers now
